I originally worked on my Kenmore washer about one month ago, thinking the brakes were sticking. I tried taking them down, shaving a bit of the brake pad off, greasing up the metal-to-metal contacts, and so on. It worked fine for a while but now it stopped again. I took the motor off and "bench tested" it. In one direction it seemed okay, but in reverse it hummed at first (as it did before I took it apart) and did not move initially. Tried again and it ran after emitting a small spark....
Kenmore washer/dryer vs. Frigidaire washer/dryer?
I am looking into getting either the Kenmore washer and dryer or the Frigidaire washer and dryer, but i am not sure what one to get. I want the new front end loaders but i have heard some mixed results with the Kenmore dryers. Which one is a better product?? I've been in the appliance parts business for over 10 years now. I've come to believe that you're just as likely to have problems with any brand. American made front loaders are getting better, so I won't say don't take a chance.
