Motion Sensors for Outdoor Lights « Power4Home

How often do you run into this scenario? You get home with an armful of things you needs to bring inside. You turn on the garage light to see what you’re doing and head inside. But by this time you’ve probably forgotten that your front door light is still burning away outside.

I have to admit… On occasion, I’ve let lights burn all night without thinking about them until I see them still on in the morning! If only they’d just shut themselves OFF automatically, so I didn’t have to worry about it. Better yet, what if they also turned ON as I approached the door?

What is the range, in feet, that an outdoor motion detector can detect motion?

2. Can a motion detector detect motion through glass? So, if the motion

The farther the distance the less sensitive it will be. It should point down at the ground at like a 45 degree angle.
